Featured Event:
8th Annual TattooFest
This weekends featured event is Raleigh’s 8th Annual Tattoo Fest. This event is happening on ALL WEEKEND at the CAM in downtown Raleigh. If you’re in the market for some ink come check out Raleigh’s best artists and see who’s sporting the kind of ink you’re looking to get, and if you like their work… maybe you ask them where they got it or who the artist was? (maybe)… You can also Follow @TattooFestRaleigh on Instagram for up to the minute updates & such.
All Weekend:
15th Annual Captial City BikeFest
The bikefest is in it’s 15th year and there are more events associated with it than I can possibly list so I’ll just say visit their EVENT PAGE, you can sort by location & event type and see what sparks an interest. We went through the list and below you can check out a couple of their events that really popped out to us.
Sep 20:
Tesla @ The Ritz
Tesla will be playing at the Ritz, tickets are still available and start at about $35. Tesla has been around for about 40 years, so you’ve probably heard of them, and you already know if you like them or not. haha Either way, this might be one of your last chances to check out one of rock & rolls original hair bands performing live!
Sep 21:
Brier Creek Food Truck Festival
Wrapping up it’s 2nd year the Brier Creek Food Truck festival runs from 11am to 3pm. What’s nice about this food truck rodeo is that it’s not as well known but still offers the best food truck options and live music. I’ve yet to go to this food truck event, but from its description, it sounds like a winner! For full details: Brier Creek Eats Alternative
MilkFest
Milk Bar will be blocking off Tucker street and hosting a block party to benefit CASA. You can expect DJ’s, food & drinks from noon til 9pm. Southern Charred will be providing wings & ballpark pretzels.
Vintage 2-Wheel Thunder
This is certainly something you won’t see every day and quite possibly won’t be able to see again. Check out these 100 year old bikes give it all they got! Tickets are between $12-$15.
Rumble In Raleigh
This event will be located right outside CAM in downtown Raleigh and will include up to 70 cars/trucks/bike that are dated pre 1972. If you like cars, you’ll find plenty of unique rides at this event!
Also happening at CAM, right after the car show is the Pin Up contest. Check out these classic beauties as they compete for a crown, sash and prizes not to mention the hearts of spectators and a couple of pit bulls that we will bring down who just need some love. If you’re interested in adopting a pup who just needs some love (and a new fur-ever home), check out Cause for Paws.
It’s also not to late to register if you want to have some fun and win some prizes. Check out bertiesnc.com.
Groove in the Garden
If you’re looking for a nice and easy afternoon Groove in the Garden has your name all over it! Easy listening in an open outdoor amphitheater next to a rose garden is about as comfortable as comfortable can get… just bring bug spray. Check out the link for a full list of their line up and show times.
Irish Fest
I enjoy the Irish culture and heritage as do so many others. If you’re not familiar with it, this is a great opportunity to check it out. The Irish festival will include Irish music, Irish dance, Celtic canines & a leprechaun lane for the kiddos.
Sep 22:
A Toast to Mura
Mura has been a staple in North Hills for 15 years. It’s going away soon, so take a moment to remember the place that, if you’ve been single in Raleigh long enough, you had at least one first date at. They are offering BOGOHO sushi rolls, for those that don’t know the acronym, it’s short for By One Get One Half Off. What were you thinking? Something dirty? Perhaps something culturally inappropriate? Don’t worry, we won’t tell a Seoul. haha
