This was the last weekend to check out the YOU ARE HERE exhibition at the NC Museum of Art so I finally went and experienced it. And my official review is… “It was pretty cool.” haha
I didn’t experience everything, but I enjoyed the stuff I did experience. There were a couple super long lines and I wasn’t willing to wait that long. Soooo… Actually I kind of cheated, I just walked to the front of each line and peeked over someones shoulder for a second. haha
The hanging shadow box was the coolest thing in my opinion. I found the room to be very relaxing and ended up sitting on the floor and enjoying the vibe for a while. I sat on the floor and envisioned the rooms floor covered with different types of pillows with people sitting around drinking tea, coloring and meditating.
As far as art goes, I often struggle with it. I feel a lot of art doesn’t speak to me with any real depth. I can still appreciate it, but perhaps not like others. I enjoy art that requires thought and can be interpreted in several ways, but I also enjoy art that just makes me smile. Most of this art just made me smile.
But yeah, if you went, what did you think? What was your favorite part of it?
