Q3: Historically, what are the least busy days at the fair?
A3: Based on historical data, the first Thursday of the fair and the following Monday through Wednesday are least busy. This year, those days are Oct. 17 and 21-23.
Q4: When is “Can Day”?
A4: Food Lion Hunger Relief Day aka “Can Day” is Thu Oct. 24. Bring 6 cans of food and get free admission. (Full Details)
Q5: What’s a better value, buying sheets of ride tickets or an unlimited ride wristband?
A5.1: The most important thing to remember is that tickets and wristbands are for sale online at a significant discount. Advance sales end 11:59 pm Oct. 17, so there is plenty of time to get your rides the best prices. For advance sales, the tipping point for value is 7 rides. If you plan to ride more than 7 rides, you’re better off with a $25 wristband.
A5.2: If you miss the advance sales online, and you are considering rides while at the fair, the tipping point for value is 6 rides. If you plan to ride more than 6 rides, you’re better off with a $35 wristband.
A5.3: If your fundamental focus is fabulous fair food, you might forgo rides altogether. For some fair goers, fried fair food finishes first over a ferris wheel, for sure!
